Naichun is a researcher and City Data Scientist in MIT Media Lab’s Changing Places group. The question that she aims to answer is what factors are important for creating an “innovative” city. Her strategy is to utilize novel techniques from Data Mining and Machine Learning to conduct a data driven study of the urban factors that affect the success of innovation in a city.
By training, Naichun is an architect and urban designer. She was educated at National Cheng Kung University, winning the Best Undergraduate Design Thesis of her class. She is a licensed architect in Taiwan (youngest individual in the 2012 examination), and is the winner of several International Architectural Competitions, including 1st Prize in the Architectural New talent Award given by the Taiwan Architects Association, and 3rd prize in the D3 Natural Systems Competition. She is currently a Masters of Science in Architecture candidate at MIT.
